Reading teenager Basil Tuma has been forced to wait for his international debut with Malta as their friendly with Turkmenistan was cancelled due to 'unforeseen circumstances.'
The 19-year-old forward has been a regular for Noel Hunt's Under-21s team and is often among the substitutes for Ruben Selles' first team, with seven appearances to his name.
Impressing with Malta Under-21s, the youngster had been called up to the full team for the first time for this month's international break.
Malta were due to play Turkmenistan in a friendly on Thursday before hosting Moldova in the Nations League on Sunday.
Unable to make his international bow in midweek, the youngster will now have to wait until the competitive fixture with the Moldovans to be given an opportunity to make a name for himself on the international stage.
On the bench for Reading's 2-1 defeat at Rotherham United last week, it was likely that the former Uganda youth international would have featured in Tuesday's EFL Trophy clash with Cheltenham Town had it not fallen foul of the weather conditions.
Tyler Bindon (New Zealand) and Charlie Savage (Wales Under-21) are the Royals' other international involvements this week which saw a scheduled trip to Barnsley rescheduled for a later date.
