Former Reading forward Lloyd Owusu has spoken glowingly of his time at the club and 'has faith' it will be restored to it's previous glories under a new owner.
The Brentford legend made nearly 50 appearances for the club between 2003 and 2005 but made his name at Griffin Park, scoring nearly a century of goals for the Bees over two spells.
Appearing on the 1871 Podcast from his new home, Australia, the former Ghana international reminisced about his time under Steve Coppell in Berkshire.
"I wish them all the best," he told the hosts. "It’s a fantastic club with great facilities and in a great location. It’s a good, family, community club. I just hope they can get back to the Championship, back up the table and where they want to end up, the Promised Land.
"I always have faith, so hopefully whoever comes in to take over can come in with some good resources and help the club get back up the ladder."
Now a Head of Discipline at a school in Australia, the Berkshire-born striker is set to share a pitch with Brazil legend Ronaldinho during a legends match in Sydney.
