Reading welcomed thousands of local schoolkids for the first School and Grassroots Day of the season.
For the past few years, tens of thousands of youngsters have gone through the turnstiles at a discounted rate to try and get their juices flowing for competitive football action in the town.
The first scheduled initiative of the season, over 13,000 turned out in total as a ruthless Royals performance put four past struggling Crawley Town, with the final score ending 4-1.
Seated in the North-East corner of the ground, and given plastic clappers to assist with making noise, hundreds of families went home happy and hopefully with a new-found passion for the club.
