Exeter City boss Gary Caldwell was full of praise for Reading boss Ruben Selles ahead of tomorrow's trip to Devon.

The Grecians are upwardly mobile having won four of their last five fixtures, currently sat fifth in League One after 10 matches.

Last season, the Royals suffered a 2-1 defeat at St James Park, with the hosts hitting the winner deep into stoppage time to pile on the misery.

However, a 3-2 victory for Reading on New Year's Day saw the hosts leapfrog Exeter out of the relegation zone.

Reading, travelling down off the back of a 4-1 win over Crawley Town on Saturday, are looking to continue pushing towards the top six positions and build on what has been a relatively positive start, however they are yet to pick up a win on their travels.

“Reading are a very good team," Caldwell told the club media channel. "We know that from last season. I think tactically they’re always very well set up. They have a fantastic manager. They’re really aggressive in how they try and win the ball back.”

Meeting twice at St James Park last season, it was the scene of a famous 9-0 victory for Reading in the EFL Trophy, the club's biggest away win in their history.
