Former Reading defender Sean Morrison labelled Royals legend Jobi McAnuff 'the best captain I ever had.'
Morrison joined Reading in 2011 and played nearly 50 times for the club while McAnuff was captain before departing to join Cardiff City in 2014.
Going on to play nearly 300 times for the Bluebirds, including spending the majority as skipper, McAnuff is an EFL legend of over 800 appearances.
The winger joined Reading in 2009 and departed in 2013, captaining the Royals to the Premier League under Brian McDermott.
Speaking to the Central Club Podcast, Morrison spoke at length of his time in Berkshire and his former teammates, including McAnuff.
" [He was] The best captain I had," Morrison said. "He was phenomenal. A lot of the traits I always wanted to have as a captain came from watching Jobi as captain. The way he spoke to people, he didn’t try to be anyone else he was always himself. I’ve had captained where because they’re captain, they feel like they have to say something or have to be the loudest in the room. Jobi was naturally himself and people respected him. If he spoke, you would listen."
