Reading boss Ruben Selles has praised the 'atmosphere and environment' created by home supporters at the Select Car Leasing Stadium ahead of Bristol Rovers' visit on Saturday- but has challenged the supporters to be 'even better.'
The Royals have dropped points in just one of their home matches to date this season and were among the best home sides last season too, losing just six of their 23 matches in Berkshire in League One.
Fresh off beating Crawley Town 4-1 on Saturday and picking up a first away win of the campaign at Exeter City on Tuesday, another 11,000+ spectators are expected for the Saturday lunchtime clash with the Pirates, who make the short trip down the M4.
Regularly among the highest crowds in the division when playing at home, Selles labelled the atmosphere 'fantastic' but has called on fans to go even further for the rest of the season.
"The atmosphere and environment are fantastic at home," he said in Devon. "I think as a fan what you want is to have a team on the pitch that will give you absolutely everything they have, and I think this group of players is showing that we can win or lose football matches, but we never give up and work hard. If it is possible, I always expect a little bit more from our fans to create an even better atmosphere."
The Royals are on the road again next Tuesday, visiting high-flying Stockport County before welcoming League Two Fleetwood Town to the SCL Stadium in the FA Cup first round.
