Reading Women's return to the town attracted a crowd of nearly 400 spectators for a Berks and Bucks Cup victory over Caversham United.
The Goats, big supporters of the Royals throughout the recent off-field difficulties, put on a day for the whole family on Mapledurham Playing Fields as the Royals returned to play in the town for the first time since their move to Slough.
Finishing 1-1 after normal time, with Zuzanna Gajzler scoring for the Royals and Freya Jenkins opening the scoring for the hosts, it was a penalty shootout that sealed progress for Reading.
A huge THANK YOU to every single one of you who came down to Mapledurham this afternoon to watch @CavershamUtdWFC 🆚 @ReadingFCWomen!

It was AMAZING to see about 400 people watching the game, but also for leaving our home in such good condition too.
We love you! #WeAreUnited 🐐 pic.twitter.com/4ozm9nIR1U
346 was the official attendance as Reading won 5-3 on spot kicks, spectators standing around the side of the pitch in what is parkland.
Earlier in the day, the men's side drew 4-4 with South Reading at Whitley Wood Rec.
Reading will travel to Abingdon United on November 17 for the quarter final as they look to retain their title.
