Reading boss Ruben Selles has issued a frustrating update on Dai Yongge's sale of the club, confirming that 'talks are continuing but nothing has moved forward.'
Since Rob Couhig's takeover attempt collapsed late on over the summer, the Royals have been in exclusive negotiations with an unnamed party for the past month.
Bills and outgoings have been paid on time during this period, but many had hoped for more tangible progress on the sale as concerns for the future of the club continue to rage on.
Admitting that he had opted out of discussions with the hierarchy in recent weeks to deal with a hectic on-pitch schedule, Selles issued an update following Reading's 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup.
"The update is there is no update," Selles confirmed. "They are continuing talks, but nothing has moved forward."
It has now been over a calendar year since the club was officially put up for sale, with two parties coming close but a deal collapsing late on in that time.
