Reading have terminated the contract of goalkeeper Jokull Andresson after the Iceland international failed to make an appearance in seven years with the club.
The brother of former central defender Axel Andresson, the 23-year-old had nine loan spells away from the club, impressing most notably with Morecambe and Exeter City and returning to both clubs for multiple spells.
Spending most of 2024 in his native Iceland on loan with Afturelding, he played 11 matches and helped secure promotion via the play-offs.
Releasing an official statement, the club said they had 'come to a mutual agreement over the termination of the goalkeeper’s contract with the club.'
The Royals have four goalkeepers already involved in the first-team, with Joel Pereira, David Button, Coniah Boyce-Clarke and Matt Rowley involved in squads.
Australian Dean Bouzanis is currently on loan with Stevenage but is yet to make an appearance.
