Abingdon United Women's star Holly Sellwood 'cannot wait' to face Reading Women in the Berks and Bucks Cup on Sunday after spending her formative years with the club.

Always a big draw in recent years due to the women's side's heartbreaking fall from the Women's Super League to amateur football in the Southern Region Women's Football League, Abingdon are hoping to have a day to remember against the former FA Cup semi finallists.

Reading travel to Oxfordshire to face Abingdon- of FAWNL Division One South West- in the Berks and Bucks FA Women's Senior Cup Quarter Finals on Sunday (2pm ko).

Struggling in the league, Pedro Bruno's side have generally fared well in the cup competitions are remain the reigning champions of the regional cup, albeit winning in very different circumstances last campaign.

Sellwood, who spent six years with the Royals, told the Reading Chronicle: "After a great win at the weekend, we're looking forward to the fixture with Reading in the County Cup on Sunday and the chance to progress in the competition.

"On a personal level, I can't wait to face my former team, my home club and where my football journey began. I spent 6 years within Reading RTC and have some great memories, but Abingdon is now my focus and we'll be pushing for a positive result."

Over 300 spectators turned out in the last round as Reading, who play out of Slough, returned to the town and beat Caversham United on penalties.

Abingdon overcame Woodley United and look to reach the semi-final at Reading's expense.
