Reading boss Ruben Selles was keen to emphasise that the key to getting a result at Peterborough United on Saturday relies on more than just stopping star forward Kwame Poku.

The 23-year-old has 10 goals and five assists to date, as well as earning successive Player of the Month awards in September and October.

Last time out, the winger hit a hattrick as the Posh hammered local rivals Cambridge United 6-1 before the international break.

Reading, who enter the match sat above Darren Ferguson's side, are looking for just their second away victory of the season and a first win at London Road for over 20 years.

Some might say that the key to beating the EFL Trophy champions is to stop Poku, however Selles implores it is much more than that.

"I don’t think we need to focus on stopping Poku, we need to focus on what we can do to have the ball in possession, as we have been doing better than before lately. We know the spaces that the two wingers- not just Poku- like to arrive in and the set-up they are trying. It is not about only when he has the ball, it is about how we prevent the ball arriving to his position and defend those spaces to win the ball back. It is a collective effort."

Over 1,000 supporters are heading to Cambridgeshire on Saturday, with the Royals journeying up to Barnsley on Tuesday too as the team face tough away trips in quick successive.
