Reading striker Sam Smith has returned from injury to lead the line against in-form Peterborough United.

The 26-year-old has missed the last three weeks but returns in time to make a trip to a favourable stadium, with the former Cambridge United striker scoring for Ruben Selles' side last season in a 2-2 draw.

Looking to reach the top six with a win, Selles has fielded a strong side for a trip to London Road, a ground where the Royals are winless since 2001.

Joel Pereira starts in goal behind a back four of Michael Craig; Amadou Mbengue; Tyler Bindon and Jeriel Dorsett.

Lewis Wing captains the team from midfield alongside Charlie Savage and Ben Elliott.

Harvey Knibbs and Chem Campbell are likely to be among an attacking trio with Smith.

The likes of Adrian Akande, Jayden Wareham and Mamadi Camara are options off the bench should the Royals need back-up.

For Posh, back-to-back Player of the Month winner Kwame Poku will be looking for a second successive League One hattrick for Darren Ferguson's side.
