Former Reading captain Jem Karacan returned to the town on Sunday for a Q&A event with fans at the Purple Turtle.
Karacan, who played for the club in the Premier League and in the 2015 FA Cup semi-final defeat against Arsenal, talked about turning down Galatasary to join Reading as a 14-year-old and going on to sign pro at the same time as Hal Robson-Kanu, Simon Church and Gylfi Sugurdsson.
After travelling down from Manchester for the event on Sunday morning, he also discussed the role that Eamonn Dolan played in his career - and how he coped with missing more than a year through injury during his time at Reading.
Karacan completed the line up of three Q&A events with former Reading stars at the Purple Turtle in November, following similar events with Nicky Shorey and Adam Le Fondre earlier in the month.
Tickets are already on sale for the next Q&A at the Purple Turtle on February 23 with Glen Little, Leroy Lita and Shorey - who were all part of the Reading team to break the Championship points record in 2006, as Steve Coppell's side won promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.
There are further Q&A events in the pipeline in the first few months of 2025 with Coppell; Alex Pearce, Church and Le Fondre; and Jamie Cureton, Nicky Forster and John Salako.
