Harborough Town manager Mitch Austin labelled Reading boss Ruben Selles 'a ledge' after Sunday's 5-3 victory in the FA Cup second round, hinting that he will be 'tapping up' the Spaniard for any loan signings.
The Bees, of the eighth tier, took the Royals to extra-time but the League One side ultimately edged past the Southern League Premier Division Central side despite dropping down to 10 men.
With almost 3,000 travelling supporters in Berkshire, it was a day to remember for the visitors as they took the lead and equalised in the dying minutes to give plenty of memories to last a lifetime.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leicestershire after the match, Austin was waxing lyrical on his opposite number in the technical area.
"I wish them well," he said. "I think their manager has been a ledge from start to finish. For a little non-league side, he’s come in and had a chat with us after. I’m going to try and tap him up for some loan players now. I want Rube’s number. I want anyone who can loan me some little whippets and some good kids, and I can nurture them with these old school non-league boys to try and take the club to another level."
Reflecting more on the whole day itself, Harborough's seventh tie of their FA Cup journey, Austin added: "I’m proud of the whole day. I’m proud of the Sandro affect- I think he was class in the first half. He came in at half-time and said ‘Gaffer, I can’t do no more.’
"In the second half, we’ve got a lead at half-time against a League One club and we’ve come out, had a bit of adversity and when we scored in the 86th minute we were great in the back end. Do we have any regrets? No. Have we got loads of memories? Yeah. It will take a lot to top that."
