Reading manager Ruben Selles believes his players 'deserve a very big game' in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Royals needed extra-time to squeeze past non-league side Harborough Town 5-3 in round two, cruising past League Two Fleetwood Town in round one in October.

Reaching the semi-final in 2015 and making quarter-finals in 2010, 2011 and 2016, the club have a rich history in the prestigious competition but remain one of the oldest clubs yet to lift the famous trophy.

With the round three draw tonight [Monday] at 7pm, fans will be watching on eagerly as the 20 Premier League clubs and 24 Championship sides enter the competition.

Talking about his ideal draw, Selles said: "I would like to have a very big game for the boys, I think they deserve it and are doing a fantastic job. Watching or feeling them play the best teams in England is what we dream.

"If it is at home, we will feel our people and have a full house, if it is away, then we have the opportunity to feel one of the best stadiums."

Since 2017, the Royals have had three trips to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, earning a £1m pay-day on each time.

With the club's finances still unstable, many hope for a trip to a giant to rake in much-needed funds.

The tie is due to take place on the weekend of January 10- January 12, with a scheduled League One meeting with Wrexham being postponed.
