Reading manager Jose Gomes is set for a meeting with the club's owners tonight as he faces uncertainty over his future, the Chronicle understands.
Gomes is reportedly set to have a meeting tonight after a horror run of results has left Reading in the bottom three in the Championship.
Poor starts to games are costing the Royals massively and a lack of goals is also causing great concern, especially the recent form of George Puscas.
Fans are certainly giving the Portuguese their backing and are urging the board to give Gomes more time:
Meeting will take place this evening. Will learn of outcome later or tomorrow. #readingfc

#Readingfc Dont sack Jose Gomes. give him til January at least before you review. he has brought young players through and a new manager may not do that and so we could lose a generation. Results will come because the play isnt so bad as league position suggests

Sacking José Gomes would be very harsh. It’s a bad run of form, but aren’t far off. Changing managers every year clearly doesn’t work as Reading has seen over the last 6 years.

We're developing with Jose Gomes and moving in the right direction.

Considering where we were before he came in, we can't forget that we need to play the long game: win fans back, promote youth, improve the side in the long run, develop a style of play.
