Reading FC forward Yakou Meite is set to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury.
The 25-year-old took to social media to confirm that he has undergone surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Meite struggled with injury last season, making just 25 appearances and finding the back of the net 12 times.

Speaking on Instagram, Meite wrote: "The operation went well. The result fell a few days ago...rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, which will take me away from the ground for several months.

"Absolutely devastated by the news but God so decided. I am sure that I will come back stronger because mentally I am already ready to redouble my efforts to return to the top In sha Allah.
"The road will be long but not insurmountable.
"Thank you for your messages of support and encouragement. All that God does is good."
